“So you decided that today I was going to move an entire mountain. With magic,” said Shuuzou.

“Actually--” Seijuurou gave him a characteristic butter-wouldn't-melt-in-my-mouth smile, “it was Tetsuya's idea.”

They turned to Tetsuya, who was standing off to the side, his face slightly blank and reserved as usual. Kuroko Tetsuya was a good kid and a reliable bodyguard for Seijuurou, but after three years Shuuzou still felt like he didn't really know him at all.

The only thing he'd been able to figure out was that Tetsuya tended to be a bit shy around anyone who wasn't Seijuurou's family – but then again, the kid was outspoken enough when it came to opposing Seijuurou's high-handed plans. (And Seijuurou had a lot of high-handed plans.)

Tetsuya's voice was a little hesitant but he spoke clearly enough: “According to the second of the Nijira Documents one of the early Niijmuras specialised in earth spells. She was even known to rearrange some of the islands on occasion. When the Aka and Murasaki families were on the verge of starting a civil war three centuries ago, the Nijimura intervened by throwing a mountain in between the two armies”

Having finished speaking, he paused with an expectant look on his face. Seijuurou stood next to him, looking equally expectant.

Well. The main reason Shuuzou spent time with Seijuurou and Tetsuya was so he'd be less bored, after all. (That and he desperately needed to learn how to control his magic if he were ever to live up to the title of Nijimura.)

“So where's the closest uninhabited mountain?” he asked. “We probably shouldn't risk harming innocent bystanders.”

“I've found an appropriate hill,” Seijuurou assured him.

“Right,” said Nijimura. “We're starting with hills, of course.”

“We'll eventually progress to moving islands.”

At least that meant that there would be some predictability in their plans for the summer, instead of veering wildly between “Let's go hunt pirates” and “Giant underwater pearls!” and “Do you know there's a mermaid enclave near Ki Island?”

“The ship's already in port and ready to set sail,” said Tetsuya. “I made the preparations this morning.”

“You don't want me to teleport?”

“The last time you teleported us, I ended up in a mud puddle,” said Seijuurou.

Nijimura shrugged. 'It washed off,” he said, and sidestepped Seijuurou's attempt to reach out and make him lose his balance. Seijuurou had discovered that little trick a few months ago and was taking great delight in making everyone fall over at first opportunity. Everyone but Kuroko Tetsuya.
